A Great Leader

Our hearts were saddened when we heard about President Hinkley and our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hinkley Family. We found this wonderful article in the Deseret Morning News about his life and all about his service in the church.
He was a great leader, a true example to all, a wonderful man. He will surely be missed.

Our Friend S

Our good friend and neighbor S has moved (only 10 minutes down the road) but we miss him already. When we first moved into our place, the door bell rang constantly. It didn't matter if it was 7:00 in the morning or 10:00 at night. S was always stopping by to play or just say "hi". In the beginning, he would come over without his parents knowing, and boy would he get in TROUBLE. When that would happen his mom and dad, of course, would not let him play. So we got in the habit, of asking him if his parents knew where he was. No, they didn't. . . so, he would run back to let them know, then be back at our place in a flash.During the summer mornings and on the weekends it wasn't out of the ordinary to get a wake up call from S. He would climb the fence and yell for the girls to come outside. When times didn't work out for playtime you could find them outside throwing balls, frisbee's or whatever they could find, back and forth over the fence.Braeden loves S simply because he's a boy and there's always a car or ball around when he comes over.
S fits perfectly in between Logenn and Hadley with age. They all get along so well together. The girls love him because he's so much fun. They thought it was awesome that he liked High School Musical and Hannah Montana. He knows all the songs and would get right out there and dance and sing with them. S also liked to come over and watch movies or the Disney Channel and without fail you would always see him sitting behind Hadley brushing her hair. How cute is that? (I wish I had a picture.)
Things the kids liked to do together. . . watch movies, sing, dance, color, make paper airplanes, hide-n-seek, ride bikes, play tag, go for walks around the pond, play board games, catch bugs for S' frogs and much more.
We'll never forget S. He's been one of our best friends and neighbors ever.

But, I don't want to be a Princess

They were at it again, those ornery sisters. Thank goodness Braeden doesn't like to play dress up. He was so upset, but I had to capture what the girls did to him. Afterwards, I rescued my poor boy from DISTRESS.

The GREATS

We were able to visit all of Mike's Grandparents while we were in California. They are the only Great Grandparents living to our children. We haven't seen them in 5 years, so the time spent with them was special. We visited G & G Wurtz on Christmas Day, at the Wurtz Family get-together and then at their home the night before we left. When we went to their home Grandma pulled out some toys for the kids to play with. The girls thought it was pretty cool that they were toys that their dad played with decades ago. They also enjoyed looking at old family photos and all of the grand children's Christmas stockings that show who's married and who have children. It was fun to see them again. Great Grandma Kunz came over to Craig and Linda's a few times. She came with us when all the ladies and girlie's went to the movies to see "Enchanted". And she went to Disneyland with us. We went to her house to see her beautiful Christmas village display and while we were there she pulled out a huge sack full of hats and scarves that she crocheted. She let everyone pick 4 sets. She is so talented and kind. Thank you Grandma.
