When Braeden was born his pediatrician brought to our attention that he had a short frenulum (tongue tied). For eleven months we have gone back and forth on whether or not we should get his tongue clipped. Our main concern was delay in speech and we were apprehensive about the anesthesia. We sought the advice of his pediatrician, family, friends, speech and occupational therapists, dentists and pediatric surgeons. We researched the pro's and con's. To say the least we did our homework. Prayerfully, we came to the conclusion that it needed to be done sooner than any later. So, we mustered up enough courage to move forward and have the 2 MINUTE procedure performed.

We arrived at 7:20, ahead of schedule, only to WAIT.

8:00, still WAITING, Brae hasn't had anything to eat or drink since 3:30.

9:00, while we are still WAITING, Braeden wants another ride in the wagon.
9:10, finally. They send us to the WAITING room to do nothing better, but to WAIT.
9:20, we WAIT for Braeden to wake up..jpg)
9:55, Brae wakes up and we WAIT for the nurse to come and unhook him from the monitor. 10:20, we WAIT for the valet to bring our car around.
11:00, we arrive home to find our pillows WAITING for our heads to hit them.

He is such a good boy to wait that long and still look so happy! I hope all went well!
Kate was partially tongue tied as well, but our pediatrician didn't think she'd need it clipped. I expressed my concern when she was a week old that it was affecting her nursing and he told me she just wasn't latching properly. He really didn't want to clip it. I kept trying to work with her, and just felt bugged by the whole situation, really feeling she needed clipped. 6 weeks later, I demanded the pediatrician give me a referral to a ENT specialist and went on that same day and got her clipped. So easy, she didn't even cry! She was still so little at the time! Unfortunately, at this point, she had been nursing wrong for 6 weeks and my milk was drying up because of it...I kept working with her for 4 more weeks and saw a lactation consultant who ended up telling me there's nothing I can really do...then enters formula and bottles. Anyway, you were wise to do your research and pursue what you felt was best. Sometimes, as parents, we really do know what's best for our children!
