Duck and Cover

BEEEEP, BEEEEP, BEEEEP!!! This is not a test. The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for the following areas. . . Please seek shelter immediately. That's exactly what we experienced earlier this evening. It's tornado season, again. Unfortunately, it's not the first time to happen and certainly won't be the last. With each warning our family has been better prepared than the time before, by planning ahead for the the next time the sirens go off. (On the agenda for next week: purchase a weather radio and stock up on batteries.) Thankfully, we are all safe, nothing touched down this time. Our surroundings are just a little waterlogged from all the rain.

A Day of Fishing

Yesterday Mike took Logenn fishing for the first time at a pond next to our house. The pond is well stocked with Bass, Crappie, and Bluegill. It wasn't long after Mike gave Logenn a few pointers of how to cast that she was off and running. Within a 20 minutes Logenn caught her first fish...a small bass. She was so thrilled! By the time their fishing expedition was over, Logenn hooked another bass giving her two catches for the night. She had a great time! Tonight she said that the second thing she wants to be when she grows up (next to being a teacher) is be a "fisher." It looks like Mike and Logenn have found a new activity they will both be doing regularly.

"Best Helper"

Hadley was voted "Best Helper" when she and the other kiddies helped Aunt Karina make a birthday cake for Meira and Tina. Instead of just licking the beaters or spatula, she did what we all think about doing...licking the bowl clean.

A trip to the museum

The movie "Big," need I say more.

Tina's brother is in town with his family visiting. So they decided to go to the museum with the kids. The kids had a great time! They loved dressing up and exploring at all the exhibits.

Mom, they won't let me in!

Such a sad face. Braeden loves to take baths and play in the water. So, whenever he hears bathwater running he thinks it's for him every time. This time he heard one of his sisters singing in the shower and started pounding on the door because he wanted in. Poor little man.
